A devoted father attitude in an African Bullfrog:

Source: Youtube. The African bullfrog (Pyxicephalus adspersus) is the biggest frog in Africa and very aggressive. But in spite of that, it's a devoted father. Bullfrogs spawn in little pools around the margins of larger ponds and after mating is over one male stays to keep watch over the newly hatched tadpoles. If the pool begins to dry up the dutiful dad digs a channel to a new water source. Click to watch a small video The greatest gift I ever had came from God; I call him Dad! ~ Author Unknown

'One Nation, Many worlds'-

I have a very positive feeling about the bonding we Indians have. Overall we have got strong bonding, brotherhood between cultures and communities. India represents so many cultures. It's unique in the world by representing multiple cultures. The tourism department of Karnataka uses the tagline, ' One state, Many worlds', I would like to borrow these words for the nation and say India is 'One Nation, Many worlds'. A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people. The unique culture of each sub group is seen in the beauty of their food, clothing, social behaviour, and so on. India is not only a country, it's a sub-continent. In the whole world we Indians represent, more than entire Europe and Australia put together. Our people out there run the few biggest companies on earth (Ex: Google, Microsoft). Every culture is special and unique in its own sense. In other words, it's a beauty in itself. Preservation of one's own culture doe

'Human beings' wherever they go"?

Received this post, simply loved it. Hence sharing.. In an ancient temple, a number of pigeons lived happily on roof top.   When the renovation of the temple began for the annual temple feast the pigeons relocated themselves to a Church nearby.  The existing pigeons in the Church accommodated the new comers very well. Christmas was nearing and the Church was given a facelift, All the pigeons had to move out and look for another place.  They were fortunate to find a place in a Mosque nearby, The pigeons in the Mosque welcomed them happily.  It was Ramadan time and the Mosque was repainted, All the pigeons now came to the same ancient temple.  One day the pigeons on top found some communal clashes below in a market square.  The baby pigeon asked the mother pigeon  "Who are these people ? The mother replied; they are "Human beings".  The baby asked,  But why are they fighting with each other...? The mother said "These h

We should always calculate the consequences of our actions:

*The consequences of our actions*       A young man saw his primary school teacher on a wedding. He went to greet him with all the respect and admiration. He said to him: "Do you remember me, Teacher?" The teacher said: "No, introduce yourself." The student said: "I was your student in the 3rd Grade, I am the one who stole the watch of a child in the classroom. I will remind you but I am sure you remember the story." One of the boys in my class had a beautiful watch, so I decided to steal it.                He came to you crying that someone had stolen his watch.  You asked us to stand so as to search our pockets.       I realized that my action would be exposed in front of the Students and Teachers. I will be called a thief, a liar and my character will be shattered forever. You asked us to stand and face the wall and close our eyes completely. You went searching from pocket to pocket, and when you reached my pocket you pulled the watch out of my pocket,

5 Humble lessons from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's life:

MUST READ Unbelievable & SHOCKING INFORMATION. DD Podhigai telecasted an interview with Mr P M Nair, (retired IAS officer, who was the Secretary to Dr. Abdul Kalam Sir when he was the President.) I summarise the points he spoke in a voice choked with emotion.  Mr Nair authored a book titled *"Kalam Effect"* 1. Dr Kalam used to receive costly gifts whenever he went abroad as it is customary for many nations to give gifts to the visiting Heads of State. Refusing the gift would become an insult to the nation and an embarrassment for India. So, he received them and on his return, Dr Kalam asked the gifts to be photographed and then catalogued and handed over to the archives. Afterwards, he never even looked at them. He did not take even a pencil from the gifts received when he left Rashtrapathi Bhavan. 2.  In 2002, the year Dr Kalam took over, the Ramadan month came in July-August. It was a regular practice for the President to host an iftar party. Dr Kal

What are we failing again and again to learn from floods:

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.” – Voltaire 2001 Gujarat earthquake , also known as the Bhuj earthquake, occurred on 26 January, India's 52nd  Republic day. The news spread viral, even though there were no social media of today. Immediately many organizations and even schools got into relief efforts. I was in my primary schooling grades when I had participated in a Gujarat Earthquake relief item collection rally. It was a huge rally filled with the spirit of little ones. That rally had a lot of josh and hosh from fellow classmates as it was filled with a lot of empathy, care, and concern. Image source- France floods- https://images.app.goo.gl/hCyp9qhEE3U89a6t8 Even today we see our fellow people getting affected by natural calamities, more often and at large by ‘Floods’. Flood  is witnessed due to excessive rain which then results in the overflow of rivers, lakes, and dams, which adds to  cause  large am

The Movement when APJ Abdul Kalam said, "I am travelling in the capacity of a sweeper and no one can stop me from doing my job":

*Dr APJ Abdul Kalam* By Wg Cdr Nasir Hanfee (Rtd) 27 July was the death anniversary of Dr Abdul Kalam , one of the greatest scientists India was fortunate to have . I can't resist sharing another story. This was way back in 1998. Our PSLV missile programme was in full swing . The programme director was Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who we did not recognise at that time . The cryogenic engines used were secretly shipped to Chennai port from where they were airlifted by our heavy lift helicopter.. If this helicopter was to fly straight from Chennai , it would have taken only 2 hours to reach the launchsite. But there were some changes due to our mission planning. A 2 hour flight due to this would take us 8 hrs of flying and 8 hours halt, but ensure no detection - a small price to pay. Due to heavy load , our passenger carrying capacity was significantly reduced . We were able to carry only 12 supporting staff from missile programme , including 2 sweepers to sweep and mop the cons

Integrity, discipline, self control and fear of God makes a man wealthy, not the fat bank account:

*Just too good*👇 ```At the point of death, a man, Tom Smith, called his children and he advised them to follow his footsteps so that they can have peace of mind in all that they do.. His daughter, Sara, said, "Daddy, its unfortunate you are dying without a penny in your bank.. Other fathers' that you tag as being corrupt, thieves of public funds left houses and properties for their children; even this house we live in is a rented apartment.. Sorry, I can't emulate you, just go, let's chart our own course.. Few moments later, their father gave up the spirit.. Three years later, Sara went for an interview in a multinational company.. At interview the Chairman of the committee asked, "Which Smith are you..??" Sara replied, "I am Sara Smith. My Dad Tom Smith is now late.." Chairman cuts in, "O my God, you are Tom Smith's daughter..?" He turned to the  other members and said, "This Smith man was the one that sig

If you tell the truth, you only have to remember to always be honest:

💥 Be Honest ______________________   Usually people consider themselves to be basically honest. Yet if we take a step back and look at our daily interactions with others, we may discover that to "protect" our image we may omit or exaggerate information so that we appear more efficient, kind, knowledgeable etc. At home we may model dishonesty without even realizing it when it occurs. How many of us have had a door to door salesman bother us when we're finally sitting down to relax. Do we send a child to the door to say ’mom is busy’. If someone calls us on the phone and we don't feel like talking to them, do we tell our child to say we aren't home? More importantly, how do we behave when no one is looking?  Is our honesty for the sake of appearance only, or is it part of our character.  One of many benefits of being honest is you don't ever have to remember what you've said. For example, if you tell a lie to someone, you always have t

Regular students in one of the US schools learn sign language, to help a new deaf child of their school:

- Students at Dayton Consolidated School in Maine State of USA have been learning sign language to help a new classmate feel welcome. - Regular students are being helped to learn the sign language. Signs have been posted around the school showing how to make different words using sign language. - The mother of the special child says her child is in the right place. - We have been listening to incidences where few special children being denied of admission at schools. But this is an awesome school where a deaf child is not only given admission, but it's build a culture where regular children are also learning sign language. - This could be called what is known as SEL. CASEL defines SEL as "Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions". - The people who sup

How Islamic economics can bridge the gap between rich and poor:

Snippets: - Most of us want a societal order where there isn’t a huge vacuum between the classes. - There is no denying that global inequality is at unsustainable levels, and that interest-based economies are no longer fit for purpose. - Islamic economics, with its 2.5% zakat wealth tax (and much lower taxes in other areas) might give us a clue on how to eliminate the worst social inequality. - These are universalist traditional Abrahamic ethics, and a common sense way for us all to enjoy a truly free market. - In many countries interest rates are too low to incentivise saving at all. - Through a combination of tax avoidance schemes, tax havens and even relatively innocent methods like transfer pricing, high net worth individuals and their corporations have very little (if any) tax to pay on their wealth. - You’re not allowed to criticise capitalism if you have benefited hugely from it. - First, to reform a failing capitalism, we need to fix two things: taxation and the interes

The world is taking turn, now young graduates opting agriculture and farming as their profession:

Can you imagine young graduates opting for agriculture as their entrepreneurial career. Yes this wave is in Italy, where not just 20 or 50 but thousands of young graduates opting to work on the field. One can understand how their education has impacted them to understand and value nature by immersing themselves. These young graduates are often from urban regions. In many countries people are underestimating the power of their farm lands and pulling themselves to urban clutters. Some of us consider agriculture, farming, plantation, dairy activities to be inferior professions. Working in giant organisations and AC MNCs do not make a person superior or respected. Inturn this is a kind of society we have created who respect us by our fame and wealth. Click to view 4 minutes Youtube video:

Democracy is hearing every voice. Make your voice heard!!

In a hostel canteen, they served upma for breakfast everyday. Most of the students got sick of that upma and raised the issue to the warden and asked to change the dish. However there were 20 out of 100 students who never ever tasted anything else than upma and they were scared of a change. Warden gave a list of dishes for breakfast and upma was one of the choices. And asked students to vote. Those 20 people religiously chose upma and didn't even bother to look other options. Now remaining 80 people didn't coordinate well, 18 people chose dosa, 16 people chose roti, 14 people chose idly, 12 people chose bread & butter, 10 people chose pongal and 10 people chose noodles. Guess what? upma is the breakfast now in the canteen again. Think!!! Act!!! and Vote!!! Voting and  democracy  is very  important  in a nation because it provides people an opportunity to voice their opinion and vote for what they believe in, it holds elected officials accountable for their behavior w

Do you know how safe our daily food is:

- The food is one of the basic needs of human beings- a healthy, safe, and nutritious food. - We all know how important a task like agriculture is, and the role of farmer is, which help us keep our bodies alive. But most of us feel that this is none of our business. - The current food which we are consuming is full of chemical usage during plantation. - You will be shocked to see how few handful companies are controlling the food we eat globally. - We are not slaves, but this kind of dominance is making us slaves, without we being aware. The purpose of education is lot more than getting a job:

- The promise of education is empowerment, equality and dignity. So, when education succeeds, it will fullfil the deepest of aspirations and hopes of our people.  - A  study  found out that parents expect a lot more from education than only better livelihood and employment.  - Few parents in the study felt that they cannot protect their rights, demand their dues, and prevent (or reduce) their exploitation unless they are educated.  - Reducing education to an instrument for employment, or basic literacy and numeracy, which much of our intellectual and policy discourse tends to, is inadequate, wrong and unjust.  Click to read full article from source:
